Sinfonia Cymru thinks Education & Community work is really important and it’s why we’ve been doing so much of it around Wales over the past few months.
This week, our musicians’ recent hard work on the road has been repaid with with some lovely messages from the very people they met at schools, hospitals and care homes in Powys and Flintshire earlier this year. Messages that were so incredibly lovely in fact, we had to share them with you in this blog.
First there was that heart-warming email from Claire…
“Hello there, I believe some of your group visited Holywell Hospital in Flintshire and performed for the ward yesterday. My 88 year old, severely disabled mother has been in hospital there for a number of weeks and as you can imagine, she has been pretty low in spirits.
Your visit really ‘lifted’ her – she guessed I think that the first piece you played was Bach and she thoroughly enjoyed hearing you play.
Thank you – it was a lovely thing to do and you absolutely made her day.
Kind regards
Claire”
Then there was that adorable letter from Forden School…

…And we just couldn’t leave out the Tiger.

We’d like to thank all the school children and patients we’ve met over the past few months for letting us enjoy music with them. It has been a absolute pleasure, and we look forward to doing more throughout the rest of the year!
